Inspired by China's rapid industrialization and urbanization and effect of this change on rural culture, Mu Gu will respectfully "update" traditional handmade toys with new "features" and "capabilities." Outfitted with electronics and light sensors, the mechanized folk toys are part of an interactive installation that combines high and low technology to create pieces that interact with one another and with the viewer.
