Abstract

Peek-a-boo's Cave is a suite of five new interactive sculptures. Resembling modified, embellished desert refuse, the installation will incorporate a video tracking device that will engage audio, video, and kinetic elements in response to a viewer's path through the work. Visually, the assemblages will refer to large, enigmatic artifacts I have encountered along the Colorado and Green River corridors in the Utah desert. The original objects are saturated with potential folklore and metaphor. As viewers trigger sensors, the sculptures themselves will physically shudder with the desire to communicate.
