The collapse of artistic disciplines follows a collapse of other intellectual paradigms--we now recognize many views, many readings, many histories--all as true, even as they conflict and contradict. To reflect this multiplicity of meaning I seek out an artmaking which expresses contradiction and uncertainty. I employ the use of metaphor, symbolism and sometimes cliche to set up consensual communication with the viewer. I am fascinated with the idea of time as it propels transformation, permutation and evolution--as a force which generates change..
