For the last twenty years I have developed technological systems, interfaces, and finished installations for what I usually describe as 'an interactive cinema.' Nowadays I am less comfortable with the description, since the term 'interactivity' seems to apply either to a point-and-click environment or to video/computer games. My enterprise is neither a clickable database nor a game. I want to tell stories that a viewer can affect without interrupting the narrative flow.

Still Lives is a reconsideration of the still life painting and its reference to the fragility, preciousness and evanescence of life. Viewers wander through a landscape of interactive still lives, meeting individuals who are, each in his own way, experts on life and death in the age of digital technologies.
