Permanent URI for this collection

This collection houses CUL-prepared data submitted to ARL, which collects data from its 123 members on an annual basis. Four survey titles are included here:

  • ARL Statistics: This main survey collects data on: collections; expenditures; staffing; services; faculty; and enrollment. Three publications are created from this data: the ARL Statistics (for CUL, includes Law but not Medical); the Law Library Statistics; and the Health Sciences Library Statistics.
  • ARL Supplementary Statistics: This supplementary survey serves as a testbed for new measures. CUL did not respond in 2005/2006 or in 2006/2007, but forms/instructions are included here for future reference. (For CUL, includes Law but not Medical.)
  • ARL Preservation Statistics: Collects data on preservation/conservation: staffing; expenditures; treatments; and reformatting. (For CUL, includes Law but not Medical.)
  • ARL SPEC Surveys: These surveys gather information and documentation on ARL libraries'current practices and policies, resulting in the publication of "SPEC Kits." ARL's objective in facilitating production of these kits is to "...help libraries learn about current practice in research libraries, implement new practices and technologies, manage change, and improve performance."

Instructions and input forms are included with the statistics surveys.
